I came across this picture on Pinterest, and it reminded me that in a few short weeks, we will be enjoying our 2012 Disney vacation. We missed it last year as DH was not working (skipping a year wasn’t necessarily a bad thing either), but we have gone religiously since Matty was 3.
Matty & Tigger – he was so darn cute!
That first year, we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Since then, we have stayed at the Polynesian, the Boardwalk and, my favorite, the Yacht Club.
Isn’t it Beautiful?
I absolutely love the Yacht Club. The main reason – the close proximity to Epcot. Almost every night, we walk to Epcot, along the serene, Crescent Lake, to enjoy not only the rides, but the World Showcase. There is absolutely no reason to spend an entire day in Epcot when you have the luxury of having it right next door to your resort. Last time, we stayed at the Polynesian and while it is beautiful, I missed that walk to Epcot. Sure we could take the monorail, but it dumps you in the front of the park and not at the World Showcase.
So, this year we are staying at the Yacht Club and I have promised myself that Danny and I will go to Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk Resort – a short boat ride across the lake from the Yacht Club. I have been dying to go to Jelly Rolls – a dueling piano bar – but have never gotten there. I think 2012 will be the year!
Do you vacation at Disney? What is your favorite resort?
We live in Florida so we go to different parks. Disney is always FUN!!!
We do Busch Gardens and Sea World as well.

@cheri1 I don’t think I have ever been to Busch Gardens and my kids have never been to Sea World. It seems every time we go, we never leave Disney there has been so much to do. But, there is always this time…
Im a little stuck at Animal Kingdom lodge, I just adore the theming so much, Im scared to try another resort incase it doesnt live upto the lodge. Im tempted by the wilderness lodge, poly and yacht/beach … do you find the yacht/beach a little stuffy and posh? Or is it super fun?
@curlykale Not stuffy at all! See I would feel that way about the Grand Floridian. The pool – stormwind bay – is phenomental with a pirate slide ship and even a lazy river. It was fantastic. I’ll post some pictures for you later on 🙂
@kasesq94 oh that would be lovely 🙂 I’d adore to be near epcot, the pool sounds fun!
