There is a new steamy novel that women are whispering about and scrambling to get their hands on: 50 Shades of Grey. Sounds innocent enough but women are turned on by this book – and are talking about it because of that fact, and because they couldn’t put it down. I saw a segment on the Today Show where they referred to the trilogy as “a triple-X trilogy involving sex games and a bondage-loving billionaire”and I, of course, was intrigued. Last night, I came across a Facebook status post of a friend desperately trying to locate a copy and boy weren’t there a lot of comments!!!
Sounded like BSDM kind of thing and I can understand women being turned on by the thought. I haven’t read it yet (but I did download the digital version to my iPad) but it is my understanding that it isn’t all that explicit in the BSDM department like, for instance, Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty series. Now that is a set of books I would NOT leave lying around for my poor, unsuspecting mother to pick up!
So have you read 50 Shades of Grey? What did you think? I’ll post my thoughts once I’m done reading it. Enjoy!!
@desireeholt I’m just excited that more people are discovering the world of erotic romance. I’ve been multipubbed in it for six years (more than 100 titles), my books have won awards and I’ve been reviewed and interviewed by USA Today. Got a minute? Take a tour of my web site and see if there’s a nothing that catches your attention.
@desireholt I will definitely have to check it out! What is also truly amazing is how this book went viral. The method is definitely something to look into as far as marketing. They certainly did something right!!!
