As always such a great post. Yes, social media is a must when dealing with any kind of situation, and especially situation that affects our lives directly. I’m your fan, and I always follow your great work. Thank you again, I learned a lot through your post, even though I have followed the news, and I was educating myself about an issue in order to avoid any mishaps, I’m still surprised that I haven’t known as much. I should have just gone to your post directly. It is precise and right to the point. Looking forward to another great post. I admire your work. A+++

@roxie As long as you are on one of these you can keep informed. I think Twitter is probably the easiest to get the info you need if you use a program that you can sort your feeds and hashtags. But as long as we work to get the info to others, social media can do what other traditional means of sharing information can’t – instant access and conversation!

This is a wonderful post it’s so true you don’t realize how important social media can be until there are times of emergencies like these. In my case we get flooded at least once a year so I’ve been sharing my pictures, and news of wellbeing with family and friends throughout these stressful times. I’ll admit I’m not much on twitter and I’ve never used Patch.com (I know shame shame, I’ll start learning right away!) but with facebook keeping me in touch I consider myself very lucky. Yes all of these are great for fun and keeping in touch in general, but as you said above they are also so important during times like these.
